Former Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has reiterated that the team can win the Champions League despite not spending big in the summer transfer window.
Rummenigge made this known in an interview with RAI Sport, where he said that the philosophy of the club has always been to keep their profile low in terms of spending on players.
The philosophy of Bayern Munich has always been the same: have success, but with the books balanced. That is part of the culture of German football.
“We might not make many big splashes on the transfer market, but we can win the Champions League even without spending huge sums, as we already proved.”
“A few years ago, Mourinho wanted to come to Germany to work at Bayern, but we felt he wasn’t the right man for the club.
“Personally, he always made a good impression on me. I hope that he can find success at Roma, because he needs to win on a daily basis.”
