The medical docs in Abia State on Tuesday introduced the withdrawal of their providers because of the non-release of their senior colleague, Prof Uwadinachi Iweha, kidnapped 9 days in the past, in accordance with The PUNCH.
Announcing this after a quick rally and prayer session, the state Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association, Dr Chimezie Okwuonu, mentioned this was to press residence their demand for the state and federal governments to make sure that their senior colleague is launched.
Iweha was kidnapped on June 6, 2022 in entrance of his nation residence whereas getting back from a church service.
According to Okwuonu, the abductors had on June 6 contacted the household, noting, nevertheless, that “nothing had been heard from them since then.”
The withdrawal of providers, he mentioned, would come with private and non-private establishments “to register our displeasure on the non-release of Prof Iweha,” including that emergency providers can be maintained.
Okwuonu mentioned, “With this kidnap and continued detention of Prof Iweha, we’re not certain of our security.
“Our security isn’t assured and it’s tough for us to work.
“We still plead with both the state and the Federal Government to ensure that Prof Iweha is released.”
