Sacking Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr is Now or Never

Nigeria and Gernot Rohr seems to have reached the highest point since their correlation as the National team lost 0-1 to the less fancied (CAR) Central African Republic.

It was a bizarre scenario as Nigeria lost to a team it is 90 places above in the World (FIFA) rankings. It’s really unbelievable as Nigerian fans is fuming due to the result of this match.

Imagine a nation of Nigeria’s class and pedigree losing to (CAR) though we are not disrespecting the visitors in this contest.

On what ground should Nigeria have lost this match? There is virtually no excuse to lean on for Eagles gaffer Gernot Rohr.

It’s just the right time for the German-French boss to pack his bags and go like the famous ‘Ghana must go’ mantra in the Nigerian community.

Though the Super Eagles was without the service of quality midfield personnel’s in the likes of Oghenekaro Etebo (Watford),Alex Iwobi (Everton) and Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City).

But there was other quality players who could do the business for the team. Despite these midfield absentees for Nigeria, a team of CAR’s level should not be a big deal to conquer if the Nigeria Coach knows what he’s really doing.

The time to sack Gernot Rohr is now and if the NFF (Nigeria Football Federation) delays on this, the Super Eagles fans would make it a hell for everyone (involved) at the top with undue criticism and intense pressure.

How can a nation of this pedigree and talent be beaten at home by such opposition not even minding the fact that the visiting side was without their star player Godfrey Kondogbia.

It’s really a sorry situation for Nigeria as Rohr continues to prove his tactical incapability’s yet again on the Nigerian job.

They failed to beat Sierra Leone with the Leone stars forcing the team to a 4-4 draw in that famous contest.

It looked like the team will learn from that mistake in Sierra Leone’s amazing comeback draw in the first leg.

But the reverse fixture proved otherwise with the Leone stars following a goalless (0-0) draw as the team appeared worse than what they were in the previous leg.

It’s going to take another big deal to see the team make amends in the second leg on Sunday.

With ‘senior man’ Kelechi Iheanacho leaving the pitch with a possible issue as he was replaced by the debuting German based forward Taiwo Awoniyi just after the intermission.

This is not just a kind of pessimism but a clear evaluation of the reality as it pertains to Rohr and his team dynamics.

His inability to motivate the team continues to be a question mark despite spending five years on the job.

How on earth is a Coach failing to build a team for that length of time? If things been equal the game against CAR on Sunday should see the team quality with two games to spare on 12 points.

While the remaining 2 games acts as a friendly to blood new (prospective) talent like Ademola Lookman, Noni Madueke and Ovie Ejaria in the Eagles mix.

But with Nigeria only on 6 points after the defeat at home and with the uncertainty of winning the return leg against CAR, more pressure beckons on the Super Eagles.

While the fact that Cape Verde came from a goal down to win against Liberia is one major concern for the West African giants in the days ahead.

The time has come and if Rohr doesn’t go now more woes would befall the Super Eagles team as the gaffer has proved his inability to turn Nigeria into a world Class team like Roberto Mancini did with the Azurri (Italy) National team.
